As a Scientist at Navigate, you will design, create, execute, and troubleshoot molecular technology-based procedures and assays. In this role, you will be expected to exhibit moderate to high level of independence while working on multiple projects, including contributing to the launch of new platforms/assays. Candidates must demonstrate critical thinking, initiative and effective stakeholder management in the execution of their projects.

About the Role

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works in a GMP/GCP/GLP/CLIA regulated environment and is responsible for following all applicable regulations
  • Plan and execute laboratory experiments and testing of patient specimens
  • Author and review technical documents including but not limited to assay work instructions
  • Perform maintenance and function tests of complex instruments
  • Work directly with external vendors to resolve QC and equipment issues
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems that may adversely affect test performance/results
  • Train and assist staff with technical and operational procedures
  • Collaborates cross functionally with colleagues on various projects as needed
  • Use LIMS to create batch testing worklists
  • Using critical thinking skills, analyze data for trends making recommendations to more senior scientific staff

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • MS with minimum of 4 years directly relevant experience or BS/BA with scientific emphasis with minimum of 8, preferably 10 years of directly relevant experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to apply principles, concepts, practices and standards associated with analytical assay development/validation and/or sample testing in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of molecular and cellular biological techniques directly applicable to the services provided by Navigate (i.e. PCR, NGS) is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and core competences in genomics
  • Good time management and prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and oral communication and intrapersonal skills
  • Ability to operate independently and in a team environment
  • Critical thinker and team player

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between: $73,500 and $136,000/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.  Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
