About the Role

Starting date: 2025 (latest in July)

Duration: 6 months 

Location: Campus Basel


Your responsibilities could include (depending on internship project) 

  • Harness diverse structure-based and quantum-mechanical computational chemistry tools (e.g., pymol, Flare, Maestro, Turbomole, xtb)
  • Set up, run, and analyze molecular dynamics simulations (e.g., Gromacs, Amber, OpenMM)
  • Apply and develop machine-learning approaches and cheminformatic pipelines (e.g., python, Jupyter, rdkit)
  • Critically assess results and outcomes from application of computational protocols on relevant scientific questions
  • Contribute to the optimization of computational protocols, develop and write scientific code (e.g., using python, bash, etc.)

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • Education: Bachelor or Master student in chemistry, pharmacy, bioinformatics, or a related field
  • Business-level English; oral & written
  • Keen interest in computational chemistry, machine learning and programming
  • Experience and enthusiasm for developing computational methods and applying them to relevant scientific questions
  • Experience in analyzing results, compiling data, and writing up scientific findings
  • Strong team player with a collaborative and proactive approach
