About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- As a member of the RX M&A IT project management team, the Project Manager will effectively deliver M & A and BD & L projects in a dynamic environment that embraces change
- Lead global cross-functional managerial, business and technical teams through successful project delivery, on time and within budget, and at the quality level required
- Enable the M&A IT project teams to secure the deal value for BR-relevant integration projects
- Proactively manage the projects’ risks and issues, resolving each promptly or escalating as needed to limit impact on project delivery
- Develop and manage M&A IT project roadmaps, ensuring each project lifecycle is in alignment with the relevant project management approach while meeting all governance requirements
- Facilitate collaborative decision making within RX across all Novartis line functions involved in integration projects
- Ensure compliance with the relevant project management framework as required per project
- Ensure full compliance with GxP requirements for all relevant areas of the program
- Ensure adherence to Novartis global Information Security and Quality standards and policies for all products/services
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance (e.g. GLP & GCP) standards and policies for GxP products/services
Minimum Requirements:

The ideal candidate demonstrates the following skills and capabilities:
- Must be a highly-motivated self-starter able to juggle multiple priorities
- Results-focus and passion for disciplined delivery
- Focuses on people over process and outcomes over artifacts
- Understands adaptive and agile project management concepts and has a record of successfully applying the approaches in project delivery
- University Degree
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred; Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification helpful
- 5+ years managing M&A projects
- 2+ years working in a pharmaceutical research or biotech environment required
- Has strong communication, team building, influencing and collaboration skills at all levels
- Must be able to effectively navigate the full spectrum of collaborators and stakeholders across Novartis
- Successfully anticipates, mitigates and resolves risks and conflict, escalating promptly when necessary
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to motivate a global project team
- Demonstrated success leading M&A IT integration projects
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work on a team of project managers
- Demonstrated success delivering M&A IT projects in a pharmaceutical research or biotech environment
- Strong track record of successful delivery of programs/projects in a highly complex global environment
- Effective use of agile and adaptive project/project management approaches
- Basic skills in the use of project execution software (e.g., Jira, MS Planner, Planview, MS Project, etc.)
Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $138,600 and $257,400 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
