Location: Schaftenau, Austria Role Purpose: Come and join our TRD Particle Characterization Specialty Team Austria. Be part of a global team of particle experts mainly supporting development of biopharmaceuticals but also commercial manufacturing!

About the Role

Your key responsibilities

  • Act as SME for visible- and sub-visible particles in biopharmaceutical development projects, meaning consultancy of customers, independent interpretation of results, writing of SOPs and other documents.
  • Support development activities with root cause investigations and regular analytics for visible and subvisible particles. 
  • Evaluate new equipment & new technology related to identification and characterization of particles.
  • Contribute to our overall Novartis particle strategy, by reviewing concepts and challenging the status quo
  • Responsible to deliver assigned projects on time, within scope, and with quality (e.g. timely execution of cross-functional plans, accurate monitoring and tracking of defined activities).
  • Ensure compliance of activities with quality standards (DQP), safety standards (HSE) and other Novartis standards.

Role requirements

  • Experience in particle analytics in biopharmaceutical development (typical techniques: LO, MFI, DLS, FT-IR, RAMAN, SEM-EDX)
  • Sound technical & scientific knowledge of pharmaceutical development, analytical sciences, or equivalent.
  • Root cause investigation experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Desirable requirements: digital savviness, curiosity to explore new digital tools, programming/automation skills
  • Proficiency in oral and written English.
  • PhD or MSc in relevant field or comparable industry experience in pharmaceutical development

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 60,212.18/year (on a full time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies
