Purpose of the role:
The Values Demonstration & HEOR (Health Economics & Outcomes Research) Manager translates data into tangible patient, healthcare system, economic and societal benefits and develops robust value propositions to support optimal P&R outcomes, accelerate uptake of our assets in the market, optimize patient pathways and lower healthcare system barriers.

This role reports directly into the Lead Market Access and is part of the Market Access Team within the Value, Access and External affairs department of Novartis Pharma Schweiz AG. The Value Demonstration & HEOR Manager will engage with a broad range of stakeholders from different functions.

About the Role

Major Accountabilities

  • Translate data into patient, healthcare system, economic and societal benefits to support optimal P&R outcomes.
  • Responsible for developing local value narratives for selected priority brands, early assets and overarching company / portfolio value.
  • Assess burden of illness and conduct Health Economics and Outcomes Research projects including but not limited to budget impact and cost-effectiveness analysis for selected products, collaborating with external and internal partners.
  • Help internal stakeholders (e.g. in Therapeutic Areas, Market Access, Medical and Early Products) identify evidence gaps & opportunities for priority brands & early assets, develop mitigation strategies and contribute to development of the integrated evidence generation plan.
  • Support policy shaping work and healthcare initiatives by developing concise data-driven narratives and evaluating the impact of healthcare policies and healthcare initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and submission of reimbursement dossiers to BAG.
  • Train MA & other functions on key elements of HEOR and value narrative and be the Swiss internal source of expertise in Health Economics and Outcomes Research, liaising with global HEOR functions.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Degree in Economics, Medical/Life Sciences or Pharmacy. Post-graduate qualification desired in Health Economics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Health Sciences or related field
  • Full professional proficiency in English, German is considered an advantage
  • 4+ years of professional experience in Market Access, Health Economics, Statistics or similar field
  • Experience in cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact modelling, and comparative effectiveness research
  • Experience in crafting and communicating compelling value stories to diverse stakeholders
  • Understanding of the Swiss Healthcare System, Market Access principles and data landscape highly desirable
  • Ability to work as part of, and lead a cross-functional team, in a matrix environment
  • Strong analytical, strategic and problem-solving as well as project management capabilities
