About the Role
Medical Lead / Medical Science Liaison Serbia and Montenegro
Major accountabilities:
- Provide up-to-date compound and disease area medical expertise to optimize patient access and outcomes
- Prepare and execute local Medical Affairs strategic plans with other functions
- Identify strategic drivers, patient journey, positioning, target population, stakeholder mapping, and segmentation early
- Engage with key scientific leaders and healthcare partners for joint value creation
- Lead local Post Trial Access (PTA) and Managed Access Programs (MAP); evaluate IITs and Research Collaborations (RC) for scientific rigor and alignment
- Raise awareness of Novartis’ brands, programs, and disease areas through publications, presentations, projects, and educational trainings
- Ensure compliance with Medical Affairs initiatives, policy interpretations, risk mitigation, trainings, and corrective actions; ensure Medical and Promotional activities/materials comply with Novartis, Industry procedures, and National laws
- Collaborate strategically with other departments’ teams to ensure effective patient outcomes and access
- Spends minimum 50% of time in field engaging key external stakeholders
- Coordinate review and approval of medical materials and locally developed promotional materials; ensure medical materials provided from global or region for stakeholder engagement and events are tailored to local needs, and reviewed/approved per local regulations
- Ensure medical insights are provided to cross functional groups, including, but not restricted to: Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory affairs, Market Access, QA, Commercial teams, Brand team and others.
- Responsible for risk identification and assessment, mitigation planning as well as implementation and monitoring of appropriate internal controls within the area of responsibilities
- Reporting of technical complaints / adverse events / special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt -Distribution of marketing samples (where applicable).
Candidate profile minimum requirements:
- Biomedicine university degree (Medicine is preferable)
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry is an advantage
- Strong medical and scientific bases and agility to transverse the diseases’ arena with ability to interact with relevant KOLs as a peer
- Extensive knowledge of local regulations, including regulations of Promotional materials, national and international pharmacovigilance regulations. Familiar with global regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required
- Able to prioritize and adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to gain customer feedback and identify business opportunities for Novartis
- Strong team player with cross-functional interface skills
- Excellent knowledge of English language, local language is required
- Driver’s license required
