About the role:
Are you passionate about ensuring that patients have timely access to the healthcare they need? Join Novartis as Director of Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) in Canada and lead a team to develop and implement submission strategies that ensure timely and broad access to Novartis products for patients across public and private formularies.
This role will work directly with the Patient Access strategy team and reports to the VP of Value Access and New Product Planning.
About the Role
Key responsibilities:
- Leading and developing a team of top performing HEOR specialists to develop and execute submission strategies to fully leverage the patient access potential of public and private formularies across Canada for the Novartis portfolio.
- Overseeing the assessment of evidence used in support of HTA / private payer submissions and making recommendations to mitigate any critical gaps or limitations.
- Providing early advice to the clinical development organization to ensure payer requirements are met and that right health outcome measures are taken into consideration.
- Collaborating internally and externally on HTA policy direction in Canada, including active participation to represent Novartis in industry forums, conferences, policy consultations etc.
- Collaborating with the International HE&OR team to advocate for Canadian HTA/ evidence needs.
- Maintaining strong understanding and insights about the Canadian and international HTA payer environment and its dynamics and pro-actively signaling important changes
- Maintaining strong knowledge of health economics, international pricing & reimbursement trends and best practices and incorporating them in Canadian strategies
What you'll bring to the role:
Essential:
- University degree in business, economics or life sciences, graduate training in drug development or Health Economics is an asset
- 10+ years experience in pharmaceutical/ biotech/ life sciences industry
- Demonstrated leadership experience in the HEOR / HTA environment in Canada
- Thorough understanding of the Canadian reimbursement environment (public and private payer reimbursement process, pCPA).
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise leadership and cross functional collaboration
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication skills (verbal / written)
Desirable:
- Bilingual, French and English preferred.
- Experience across multiple therapeutic areas (oncology, non oncology and rare disease)
