Location: Basel, Switzerland Role Purpose: Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career in biologics drug product development? Do you want to lead a team of talented and passionate project leaders who are responsible for delivering innovative and high-quality drug products for patients? If yes, then this is the opportunity for you! We are seeking a Group Head of Drug Product Project Leaders in Biologics to join our Drug Product Development department in Basel, Switzerland. As a Group Head, you will lead a group up to 15 project leaders who manage the biologics drug product development projects. You will also contribute to the Basel site strategy and be part of the local Drug Product Leadership team.

About the Role

Your key responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the drug product development team, ensuring the proper development of the projects assigned to it.
  • Actively contribute to the Site strategy: Basel as an incubator.
  • Provide strategic direction, coaching and mentoring to your group members, ensuring their professional development and performance.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality drug products that meet the target product profiles, timelines, budgets (internal and external costs) and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with internal and external partners, such as drug substance, analytical, TPPM, clinical, regulatory, quality, manufacturing, CROs and CMOs, to ensure alignment and integration of drug product development activities.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, innovation, diversity and inclusion, trust, high performance, data and digital within your group and across the department.
  • Support the environmental sustainability initiatives on site and contribute to the reduction of carbon footprint and waste generation.
  • Role model and enable the Novartis culture aspiration of unbossed, curious and inspired at all levels.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • PhD preferred in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, Process engineering or related fields with at least 10 years of experience in relevant industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Pharma Drug development Process
  • Experience in project management of Drug Development.
  • Excellent communications skills, command of spoken and written English language
